Abstract: Public notaries in Romania play an essential role in the legal and economic system of the country. They are responsible for the authentication of the legal documents, ensuring that comply with the law and that the rights and obligations of the parties involved are clearly defined and protected. Their activity is regulated by Law no. 36/1995, the law of public notaries and notarial activity. In the current economic and social context, public notaries contribute to the safety and stability of civil and commercial transactions, thus facilitating confidence in the market. They ensure the transparency and fairness of these transactions, which is crucial for the efficient functioning of the economy. The professionalism and impartiality of public notaries are guaranteed by rigorous training and strict compliance with deontological and legislative norms. Thus, public notaries in Romania are fundamental for ensuring legal certainty and for protecting the rights of citizens and legal entities.
